D Day at SWORD BEACH : from Colleville Montgomery to Hermanville
Follow me along the nice beach houses between Hermanville et Colleville, where life was quiet and entertaining until Second World War started. I will tell you about the German occupation, and how this peaceful place became one of the five D Day Beaches, known under the codename Sword Beach.
Using maps and archive pictures, I will help you imagining what took place here on June 6 1944, and understanding the goals of this operation. I will tell you the story of the men of the British 3rd Infantry Division, but also the Commandos of Lord Lovat.
